Ian Eugene Obore
Ian is the Managing Partner and guides the strategic direction of Obore & Company Advocates. He plays a leading role in ensuring the firm’s continued commitment to the highest levels of client service, strengthening its dedication to diversity and inclusion, and legal excellence.
With his extensive experience, Ian is adept at offering innovative and practical solutions to address complex commercial challenges. He is known for his ability to provide cost-effective legal advice while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
On the back of his experience and expertise, Ian has distinguished himself in delivering expert, specialized and timely legal advice for corporations and government. He is highly skilled at negotiating complex legal issues, developing and effectively communicating legal solutions to a global clientele.
Ian is keen on alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and meditation and he is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Practice Focus
Ian advises on structured property transactions, joint ventures and the acquisition, development, lease and sale of industrial, commercial and mixed-use developments.
Preparation, perfection and advisory on enforcement of various securities and securitization instruments including but not limited to Charges, Discharge of Charge and Further charges, Debentures, Mortgages, Re-conveyance of Mortgages, Guarantees, Composite Debenture and Guarantees.
Preparation, filing and registration of various Intellectual Properties such as Copyrights, Trademarks, Patents, Utility Models and Industrial designs; prosecuting claims in instances of breach of Intellectual Property Rights as well preparing advisory opinions on the registration, infringement and enforcement.
Ian has been heavily involved in offering Commercial law advice to clients on the set-up of companies, shareholding structures, corporate legal compliance and the specific registration and license requirements for doing business.

Eric Lubisia Simiyu
Lubisia is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with experience and expertise in diverse areas of law. He graduated from University of Nairobi with an LLB and has a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
He has over two years’ legal experience having worked in the Litigation Department of NOW Advocates as a pupil, legal assistant and advocate before joining as a Partner at Obore and Company Advocates in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. Eric has been involved in various litigious matters including arbitral proceedings involving one of the largest Development Companies in Kenya and was part of the legal research support team for dispute at the Supreme Court for a large Bank which had an asset base of over US $ 2 Billion. His areas of practice are Employment Law, Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Banking & Finance Law, Arbitration, Environmental Law, and Family Law. His areas of interest include Human Rights Law and Public Administrative Law.
